When we bought our current house, the prior owners had done NOTHING to the yard since the house was built in 1999. Add to that... the builder stripped and sold all the topsoil before building the houses in the community. Needless to say, we had pretty much nothing but weeds on clay and rocks. I tried 2 or 3 other companies but could see no progress. We started using Lawn Doctor about 4 years ago. After the first year, the lawn was looking much better and the grass was starting to choke out the weeds. After the second year, we had a full grassy lawn and few weeds. It has consistently improved year to year. Lawn Doctor has done a great job at both of our properties, and I highly recommend them. ~ James K

I was very pleased with the Lawn Doctor. I have never had a service at my home and my lawn showed it. I tried for 20 years to do the Scotts do it yourself program with a spreader and missed applications. Saw lines in my yard and just could not kill the chick weed. Since I met Pam at the Home and Garden Show in the spring and signing up for the service I have been extremely pleased. I did not get the airiation on the first sign-up but finally decided to do it and glad I did. I now will put down grass seed this winter as the snow fly's and melts and hope next year I will see new grass growing in the spring. We used to use an independent lawn care company before that we unfortunately found out later did not have the consistency and standards that we expected. We're truly happy with Lawn Doctor after going on for more than 2 years now. We have to report that we are extremely happy. The service from Lawn Doctor is like clock-work. We've come to depend on them and whenever there is a question on weeds or strange things that pop here and there, they are truly prompt in responding to questions. We now do annual prepay as it provides the convenience of just taking care of all it at one time and a big time-saver for us (and we save on stamps :-). Our front yard needed some major help. We didn't get the greatest quality of sod when we built our home. Our front yard had more "brown" than "green" spots. It was in pretty bad shape. We used the lawn doctor to aerate and seed our yard this past September. The results have exceeded my expectations. In less than a week, our yard is noticeably greener and healthier! We have had several neighbors ask us what we did to get our yard looking so good. I cant believe the results we have in such a short amount of time. I wish i remembered to take "before" photos because honestly the difference is unbelievable! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Lawn doctor gets my highest recommendation. ~ Kayla R

This is our 3rd year using Lawn Doctor and highly recommend them for service. They always call with an automated voice message the day before service to let us know they will be servicing, weather permitting. Since we have a locked gate, they also follow-up with a phone call from the office to confirm the gate will be unlocked. The lawn techs are always extremely nice and professional - they come to the door the day of service to let us know they are there and then leave a summary of their visit at the end. They also have always remembered to close the fence gate door all the way (which we really appreciate so our dog doesn’t get out after). I also like the email summary as well to explain what weeds they saw and sprayed for. We use to have tons of wild violets and dandelions in our yard before we started service with them but they are finally gone! Highly recommend! ~ Tricia H

I switched to Lawn Doctor a couple years ago and could not be happier. I’ve used a couple companies over the past 20 years and this has been my favorite! They are very responsive and happy to accommodate special requests. In my case I ask that they give me a call when they are on the way to allow my dog to go out before they do the treatment. My technician Zymire M is always so kind and patient while he waits for the dog to come back in. He seems very knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions. They offer lawnmower tuneups after the season ends.They pick up and drop off your mower which I think is a handy service. . ~ Cindi

Quick update: Jack was out today and exemplified the 5-star review (below). He put down the current treatment but then went back and spot sprayed a couple of renegade weeds. Then he took a blower and blew any fertilizer from the sidewalks/driveway onto the lawn. He even blew off my porch. Jack illustrates the service - and conscientiousness - Lawn Doctor delivers. --original review-- Super responsive, super friendly. We have a LOT of shrubs and trees... and they are all looking great. Zach is very conscientious when doing a treatment (being careful around flower beds, avoiding bushes in flower, and being mindful of furniture), which we super appreciate. Whenever we have a question or need a spot treatment, we can call always good-natured Robyn, who makes sure to follow through and get answers or get us on Zach's schedule. The owner of Lawn Doctor came out and walked my property with me, pointing out, naming and explaining the unwanted plants growing in my thin grass. He told me about a process called “power seeding” that he said would help give us a fuller, healthier lawn. We had this done along with the usual scheduled treatments last summer and WoW!!! This season my lawn is thicker, greener and as weed-free as it has EVER Been!!! I’ve lived here since August 1986-36yrs- and tried 5 different companies over the years! Neighbors walk by my corner lot and if I’m out with my pup or gardening they comment on the improvement and I say, “Lawn Doctor!” ~ Susan C

It is an excellent service. They committed to provide good result after a year. But I'm wondering that I see the drastic changes with in 7 months of period. They did awesome job, even though I used to mowing, they provided the advise for mowing. I recommend my friends for lawn care. they are very professional and strict to their commitment. Response from Lawn doctor is also awesome. if you don't know chilly thing, they will explain you everything. It's more than worth the money I spend for their service. My lawn was over ran with weeds. It looked tired and embrassing. I tried the off the self weed killer. That only turned the weeds white but didn't kill it. The guy who mows my yard suggested Lawn Dr. What a difference in month. The Lawn Dr. applied the weed and feed solution. The weeds were gone in a week and half. My grass looks fresh and healthy Also, I signed up for the soil analysis. The result was I had too much calcium in my soil. They applied yesterday sulfur to balance the calcium. I expect my lawn to look better than it does now. The guy who mows my said it looks just as good as the my neighbor who maintenance his yard daily. ~ darin s

The Lawn doctor is a great company. I have been a customer for almost 3 years. This is my 2nd lawn company and I was very hesitant to try another company. I am glad I called The Lawn Doctor. I started to see changes in my lawn much faster than the previous company. Robyn the customer service manager is the best; I appreciate her thorough communication about service options and cost. Most of all, the prices are reasonable and my grass is green, thick, and free of weeds.I finally got the lawn I wanted. I am so pleased with this lawn company. We have used Lawn Doctor for a year now and have a great lawn! They have reseeded twice with their seeding machine- it really does a great job in getting the seed into the soil. I appreciate the ability to speak directly with Robyn in the local office. She is able to answer my questions directly or get me an answer quickly. They stick to a schedule and notify me when they are coming. Employees are professionals and knowledgeable about turf grass and its problems. A couple years ago a neighbor referred me to Lawn Doctor as I was having issues with my lawn and the company I was using wasn’t effective. After one year with Lawn Doctor, I became the one referring them. I have now had them treat my lawn for three years. The service they offer and their ability to diagnose and treat problems is exceptional. He was extremely efficient with all aspects of his job and attentive to our specific requests! Thank you, Kyle! We have had great service and response from Lawn Doctor. A few years ago we requested no heavy machinery used because our lawn wasn’t in great shape. They have followed that request faithfully and even the last time they forget and wrote a note apologizing. Our lawn is in such great shape from using them. Power seeding the last several years along with Zach’s great service attention. Zach is very attentive and respectful of your property. I have been using this company for about 1.5 years now. I was with another lawn company that was horrible and switched to Lawn Doctor late in the season last year. Since then, my lawn has turned around like never before! It is nothing like last year when my lawn was full of weeds. Now granted, there are some areas that are still needing TLC, but I know for a full lawn restoration it can take a couple seasons. However, I have one of the best lawns on my block. I am planning on sticking with this company as long as I can! ~ J L

Lawn Doctor reseeded both front and back yards last year. The back yard looked great at the end of summer but the front yard grass was spotty. In the fall they reseeded the front after killing noxious grasses present and seed sprouting was negligible. They came out again this spring and reseeded again at no additional charge. This time the yard is looking great. I switched my lawn service to Lawn Doctor several years ago and have been very satisfied with their service offerings and lawn treatments. ~ Marcia O

This is the third lawn service we have used since moving to Westerville in 2015. By far, their lawn treatment has been the best in terms of keeping weeds from taking over my lawn. I say this as someone who wants the lawn to look good. I do not have an underground sprinkler system nor do a need my lawn to be the best looking on the block but I do want it to look well maintained. They are also responsive to any concerns and upfront about all the costs. If you are looking for a solid lawn company check these guys out. ~ Gus T

We had a lawn maintenance service for about six years they started out being fairly good. Every year it would get worse. No information on what they did. No verbal communication from the person that would come to the house. So I started to look for another lawn maintenance. Found Lawn Doctor. I feel that I have the service I have always wanted. We switched to using Lawn Doctor for our condominium community and our lawn has never looked better! We have approximately 22 acres of which about a third is lawn area and some of the areas are very difficult to access. Lawn Doctor technicians and office staff have been very professional and responsive to our needs during our 1.5 years. As the Landscape director for our COA they have made my life easier! Thanks to Lawn Doctor of Columbus, my lawn is consistently one of the greenest on the block...greener than the golf course behind my house. I never have weeds and the bugs are kept at bay. Lawn Doctor even tunes my lawn mower every winter so I am ready to start cutting grass in the spring. No more hauling bags of stuff home and wrestling them around my yard. We had a great experience with lawn doctor. Our old lawn service left us with weeds..and medium level of green. We cancelled them and tried do-it-yourself fertilizing. Which gave us green..but weeds were spreading. Enter..lawn doctor. The first phone call felt like a chat with a neighbor. Immediately had less weeds..greener grass and smaller bill.
